Grilled Sonoran Hot Dogs

Sonoran hot dogs originated in Northern Mexico and have made their way around the globe as one of the more popular ways to enjoy a hot dog. Topped with homemade pico de gallo, beans, and avocado, these bacon-wrapped dogs are enjoyed at baseball games, barbecues, pool days, and more! Try them on your Pit Boss wood pellet grill for extra wood-fired flavor.

THE METHOD

COOK IT.

01

In a bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, lime juice, and salt until well mixed. Set aside in the refrigerator.

02

Heat your refried beans on the stove in a small pan and leave warm while grilling.

03

Preheat your grill to 350°F.

04

Wrap each hot dog with a piece of bacon, and secure on both ends with half a toothpick.

05

Grill your hot dogs until the bacon is crispy.

06

Remove the toothpicks from each hot dog. Assemble them like so: Spread some refried beans in the bottom of the buns, add the hot dogs, sliced avocado, and a scoop of pico de gallo on each. Drizzle with chipotle mayo, if you have it.
