Smoked and Air Fried Buffalo Chicken Wings

These are @CookItWithTim's go-to buffalo wings. First smoked low and slow for flavor, then finished in the air fryer to create that crackly, crispy skin and golden brown finish everyone loves.

THE METHOD

COOK IT.

01

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels then toss in BBQ rub until coated well. Cover and place wings in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

02

When you're ready to grill, preheat your smoker to 225°F and smoke the wings for 1 hour.

03

Remove the wings from the grill. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F, spray the basket with cooking spray, and air fry the wings until golden brown and crisp, flipping halfway. This will be approximately 12 minutes or until wings reach 195-200°F using a meat thermometer.

04

To make the buffalo sauce, melt butter in a small pot on the stove and whisk in hot sauce. Remove after warm and incorporated.

05

In a large bowl, toss the wings in the sauce and serve hot with blue cheese or ranch dressing (and celery if you want the full wing experience).
